We went from bi-weekly to weekly lessons. We just can't get enough! Ashlynn is amazing with the kids and the horses. My daughter is having the time of her life and gets visibly better and more confident with every lesson. So many opportunities and such a great attitude here!

I highly recommend Amy for kids' lessons! She's at the Queen Creek location. Amy is the most patient and kind teacher who is very knowledgeable about horses. She makes all of her lessons fun and the kids adore her!

Riding classes with Amy of S.T.A.R.S. turned my stay in Queen Creek into an amazing experience. I volunteered at a farm down the road and dropped by on a Saturday for orientation, not knowing that I was actually in the wrong spot (first meetings for scheduling take place in the Gilbert location, not in Queen Creek). Amy greeted with me with open arms and we made an appointment for orientation and the first lesson right on spot. I used to do English as a teenager, but had no experience in Western. But even as a beginner, traveler, and non-native speaker, I felt welcomed and at ease right from the start. The way Amy teaches is structured and she is very well able to adapt to all kinds of levels, ages, and characters. Although I was a little rusty, I felt safe at all times. Amy would also allow me to do more advanced exercises like barrel racing, at my pace, without putting pressure on me. She is a great instructor. All the best for you and all the instructors and animals at S.T.A.R.S.!

On their home page it says "English Riding lessons," however we attended the orientation and we were told that they do NOT do English Riding and you have to do Western. We were, of course, disappointed after spending an hour at the facility. She also berated my child who was quiet through the discussions about lessons for "looking angry and mad" because she can't do English riding there. These people have no business around children if they intend to bully them into a particular class that's not even the style they have experience riding in! DO NOT GO HERE if you care about your kids!!

Danya Wright, the lady who founded the school, cares about the horses the same way I care about them. She respects and appreciates them as fellow spirits with emotions and personalities and souls. In fact, she has even more rescue animals than I do. It's an excellent program with a lovely facility and the payment structure is fair. Lessons are currently $50 each (either 1 hour group or 1/2 hour private) and you don't have to sign a contract. I feel so blessed to have found this wonderful program so close to my house in Gilbert, AZ. What's the very best part of S.T.A.R.S.? Most of the horses are rescues!!! Most Americans aren't aware of the ongoing attrocity of horse slaughter. Although we no longer murder these horses on U.S. soil, we now ship them to Canada and Mexico where they face an even more brutal death. By paying tuition at this school you're actually helping save horses who might otherwise be meat right now. I've been a vegetarian 34 1/2 years and always will be one so I hate seeing any animal whatsoever killed for meat. However, there is something especially insidious about betraying a creature who literally helped create this country. Thank you Ms. Wright for trying to right the wrongs!

My kids have been riding here with Rose for a few months now. We are amazed at how much we have learned so far and how much more comfortable we are with horses in general. We have gotten to experience many of the horses too so learning their unique temperaments and personalities has taught us a lot. Rose is fantastic and very knowledgeable and great at multi tasking and making sure it is a safe and enriching experience. She has challenged my kids which is great so they can continue to develop their skillset and not become stagnant. I am in a few homeschool groups and recommended STARS all the time! We look forward to our weekly lessons and it is always the highlight of our week. Jaelyn is great as well and such a sweet heart. All of the staff has honestly been great to us and we plan to take lessons here for a long time

My daughter has been taking lessons for a few months now. I cannot say anything but great things about this place. This is not an aggressive, strict, stressful place and that is what makes it a great fit for us. They take the time to teach kindly yet very responsibly at the same time so the riders are safe. I have no doubts that all of their instructors are amazing…but my daughter has only had one instructor so far, and she is such an AMAZING riding coach. She really knows her stuff about horses and I love that she asks the kids questions to get them thinking about what they are doing and learning. Huge thank you and shout out to AMY! My daughter is learning everything there is to know about horses and riding, including all the things that go into actually taking care of a horse. Thank you S.T.A.R.S of Horsemanship and Amy for a great experience so far!
