I’ve had the worst experience on the mobile app of Backstage. I had a callback message for a shortfilm in February 18th. I have been checking my inbox and refreshing the page every single day for auditions i’ve submitted. Today is April 4th and the message just appeared on my inbox. This is very damaging for my image and integrity as i seemed to not respond at all to the producers of this project when Backstage did not showed those messages to me. Needless to say i’m paying for the subscription, so i’m definately canceling that. I’d like an apology on their behalf to them.

Pretty much a scam. Can’t call and talk to any one. Can only contact through email. Always want money, how are you a talent agency and don’t take the time to develop your talent? You want hundreds of dollars and don’t offer classes, headshots for your clients, a resume, a coach or anything. Why pay $3-400 bucks to be an extra and you may not even be seen.Also they have tons of fake reviews!

Great site with many useful roles and options for improving your profile.

Just need to be a bit more open to actors with special needs like the accent issue. As I explained to 2 different representatives directors which put all ethnicities DO NOT have in mind people with accent. They have in mind all ethnicities but NOT accent. And adding it will be very helpful. The filter as it is now is useless. If I am putting middle eastern in the ethnicity and I get 99 percent roles for all ethnicities. I suggest people from your team put on them Middle Eastern accent and go to All Ethnicitis role and later to MIDDLE Eastern roles. The ALL Ethnicities if they get one role it’s a miracle. The middle eastern if they have proper aaccent they have more than 80 percent chance of getting the role. All need to do is add a box on the ethnicity “exclude all ethnicities”

Dripping rating after a huge price increase

Updating to one star. Have no shame bumping the subscription by 100 percent in less than 3 years. $199 for site worth $25. Actors access is 10 times better and charge less. Taking advantage of the non experienced actors. Most roles are either no pay or $100 a day.

This company is a disgrace. I paid a year subscription and received absolutely nothing but unsolicited emails .. kept on subscribing and the mails continue until I just delete and brush them aside. I go into my bank account today and there it an $149+ to renew my subscription. I right away contact customer support just to hear that because I did not call 14 days prior I cannot get a refund .. now mind you it was renewed 2 days ago .. is unheard of .. you could pay on a month to month basis but if you buy an entire year they renew for an entire year and won't refund the months that follow. Subscriber beware they are to take your money .. go into your account and cancel the automatic renewals before is too late. Unbelievable .. during COVID you couldn't get any leads anyway .... yet they won't refund or at least take the first month and refund the rest .. what a disgrace.

Very easy to use website. Went to several auditions posted on Backstage and got cast. I only audition for films made by Asian or Asian American students, since this is just a hobby of mine. I'm able to easily resubscribe and cancel my Backstage membership, with no penalty. I appreciate that! And the customer service is fast and friendly.

TERRIBLE customer service and they are deceitful crooks with their monthly subscription. After spending hundreds of dollars they refuse to even reimburse me even just $20 for one month when I finally reached customer support on the first business day of the month - claiming I had to pay all the way until the end of the month. I sent them proof I had reached out and tried to cancel months ago and they treated me so rudely and re-sent the SAME customer support message to me multiple times asking how to improve and not listening to my feedback. They clearly are disorganized and also UNETHICAL! I also have not used the service in over a year which they could clearly see. It would not be difficult to grant a small refund considering how they've made so much off me and never sent a monthly or annual statement of billing to me. Disgraceful.

Backstage's customer service is phenomenal. I needed a refund on a purchase I made with them and within the hour the only was back in my account. So grateful for their quick snd speedy response!

I've had several curious incidents with seemingly fake casting solicitations. In each case, I contacted Backstage and Danny got right on it for me. Customer service is GREAT. And we all need to be extra careful when we receive messages. It's one thing to have a hunger to work, it's something else to allow that hunger to override common sense.
