I was given a car that was filthy dirty to the point of disgusting. There was no effort to clean it between users. There was a gross smear of something across the touch screen console. The cloth seats were all stained and the car had a lot of debts, scratches and dirt everywhere. I have photos to prove. I was charged up front for mileage when given my invoice, which did not show on my end when I ordered the car. When I questioned the staff how they came up with how many miles they thought I would drive, he had no idea. This worker behind the counter seemed completely bothered to have to work. This was on 10/25/24. I would never rent from this location again.

This place is an absolute disgrace. The moment I walked in, the entire location reeked of weed—like a run-down alley where people go to get high. It was disgusting. But the real shocker? The guy handing me the car was reeking of alcohol—his breath was so strong it was unbearable. It was beyond unprofessional, and honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was drunk on the job.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, these scammers charged me twice for the same reservation. Thankfully, I had proof, and my credit card company refunded me. But instead of fixing their mistake, these frauds threatened me and even reported me to collections for money they had no right to take.

They also lied about my return, charging me for extra days and claiming I dropped the car off at the airport, even though I have proof that I returned it to this exact location. Clearly, they make up fees just to steal more money from customers.

This place is an absolute joke. I demand that the company drug test their employees because this level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. If you value your time, money, and sanity, stay far away from this scam operation!

Computer system was down. Hertz agent was not proactive with any solution. I had to suggest various possible solutions to the issue. Extremely unprofessional agent mentioning that he was losing his patience over the system issue and that he cannot do anything for me as he is only an employee and handed me a leaflet to contact. There was no strategy in place where he could seek support from a manager or supervisor for trouble shoot. Manual paperwork was done after 1 hour 15 minutes approximately. Found the Jeep full of pet hair/ lint of fabric. Extremely dissatisfied

My son rented a car at this location and the tire blew out within 20 minutes of him leaving. He did not hit anything. Customer service was horrendous and obviously they are not inspecting the cars well enough to make sure they are safe to rent. They did nothing to help him. The automated phone numbers gave him a run around as he was stranded on the side of the road. There was no spare tire in the vehicle. He couldn’t even get in touch with the Montgomeryville location. There was only one person in that office to handle customers and situations. He had to pay for his own tow back. I would avoid ever using Hertz. I would give them zero stars if I could.

I was supposed to have my rental car booked from Wednesday to Monday. I ended up returning the vehicle Friday instead. It was only supposed to be $300 from wed-mon, but when I returned the car 3 days early, I was charged $250. I turned back and went into the office and the manager was extremely nice and helped me with fixing the price error.

They charge a late fee and they also charge for the extra days. I understand the charge for extra days but a late fee My car was getting repaired. I can't help that. I was also charged $184 for fuel and service? Not sure what that's about but putting gas in the car doesn't cost that much.

HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT/SERVICE

Renting from this location has turned into a total nightmare. I rented a Tesla that had a slow leak turned flat tire. Not only was I charged $530 for a tow from roadside, the vehicle wasn't towed for several days (which I was charged an extra $300 for). Oh and to make matters worse, I was charged $250 for keys despite handing them over to South Philly Towing driver. The tow place provided me with GPS details of when and where the car was picked up and dropped off from also with a photo of them handing the keys over. Despite having this Hertz customer service is refusing to refund the key charge or the extra day charge stating the location manager DIAVION SAUNDERS refuses to refund the charge. This is the worse car rental experience ever. A rental that was supposed to cost less than $200 cost me $1300!!! I will be reporting Hertz and DIA/DIAVION to the BBB and attorney general office!
