I’m so happy I found Kids International Talent Agency (KI). My daughter has been represented by KI since 2016. We could not have asked for better representation in the DMV market. When we first started, I participated in their New Parent Orientation which provided me useful information about the DMV market and how to prepare my child’s submission materials. My daughter has also taken a few of their acting classes. In addition to helping my daughter book jobs in the local market, the training she received during the acting classes played an integral role in helping my daughter land her first audition with Nickelodeon in NYC. Thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Love, my daughter has been able to fulfill her acting dreams close to home.

We were lucky enough to have our daughter join KIT after being with another agency. Barbara and Sam would not take her on though, until we made a clean break in writing. That's how they've built such a fine reputation in this business, by always being ethical and honest! Now she's with the only franchised Sag/Aftra agency in the area, KIT!!
Jobs have been exciting, fun, and lucrative for our girl, and the KIT Master Classes offered invaluable training! In one case, she was cast the next day, because of the confidence and technique she gained from an outstanding guest actress' seminar!!

My granddaughter has been represented by Kids International Talent Agency for more than 10 years. They have been a very positive influence in her life.
The workshops and classes that she's taken have strengthened her not only as an actress, but as a person, giving her confidence and the ability to face many obstacles.
She started as an elementary school student and continues to work with Sam and Barbara even though college commitments take up a good deal of her time. (It didn't hurt that her earnings have helped with college finances.)
I am an educator and a very protective grandparent, so the fact that I trust Sam and Barbara to always have her best interest at heart and now the best interest of 2 more of my grands, says a lot.
I have been on set many times and the people that my granddaughter has had an opportunity to work with have been wonderful. Not only that, but I know if ever there was a problem, Sam and Barbara Love are just a phone call away.
Lastly, I would like to say that, as with sports, we know that every child will not go on to win an oscar or an emmy, but the experience of working with Kids International will help them navigate through the experiences and uncertainties regardless of who they grow up to be.

What can I continue to say about Kids International other than "Wow" they are still an awesome talent agency who looks out for the kids and the parents that they represent. Ten years later from representing my son, Joshua, and later my nephew, Lil Tony, they still are busy in the DMV working on some great projects. They kept Joshua busy going up and down the I-95 corridor with auditions and bookings. Their workshops and classes helped enhance Joshua's acting skills and personal presence in the industry, making it possible for him to land some amazing principal roles and many callbacks, even if he didn't land the job. The experiences and exposure (The Wire, Seasons I & II, Step Up I & II, Beauty Shop, NBC PSAs, and National Treasures, etc.) that came from being with KI was what he needed to fulfill his dream during those years. The best part of Joshua's time with KI was when they felt he was ready to good to Hollywood during pilot season to audition for several roles out there for two weeks. He got to meet with some of the greatest and then the opportunity to attend the Screen Actors Guild awards and Oscars was such a treat. KI rocks and will always have a special place in our lives because they took very good care of my Joshua and helped him become successful in what he does best, "ACT". Thanks Ms. Barbara and Mr. Sam for being who you are and representing the best that our area has to offer.

The agency emailed me an invitation to come to an audition for representation. Before I took my son I did research on this agency and saw that people had complained about acting class fees. So I emailed the agency back the following “I have a few questions... Are acting classes mandatory for your representation? We are unable to pay for anything at this time and we are not interested in purchasing in any acting classes” Simple question right? And this is the response I received back “Please disregard the invitation it was obviously a mistake.” This was pretty much confirmation that they are only after your money, in my opinion. I only gave one star because I had to for this post.

I contacted a reputable agency in the city who does not represent children and referred me to KIT. Sent in a picture and was contacted to come to a “new talent” meeting. I will describe our experience below and you can make your own decisions on wether you would subject your child to their representation.

We arrive at their office and my first flag goes off. We should have left then. This agency claims to be one of the best in the industry in the DMV. Their office is in the basement of a sketchy medical complex. We were greeted by a room full of folding chairs, a stained basement floor, no cellular service, and the looks of a fly by night business - not the “incredibly successful” agency they claim to be. My child dared use the bathroom which was disgusting and full of black moldy towels in the shower.

We are then subjected to an hour and forty-five minute brag session of how great they are and who they represent. There is one relatively popular actor they claim to represent now. I strongly doubt that this actor, who is in successful movies in LA, would be represented by this place currently.

Continuing on - basically zero questions from parents were directly answered. The wife then comes out and says all your kids are GREAT and we want them all. By the way - during the drawn out brag session we are told they choose to no longer be SAG affiliated for “freedom” purposes basically this year (after 24 years). Flag no. 2. It actually sounds like you don’t want to pay your fees/dues anymore.

At the end of this painful session - literally last ten minutes - the Husband hits the parents with the following: We have two requirements

1. You pay us $85 and come back again for another two hours for us to tell you what is expected by us of our clients and their parents and what is involved in their representation. (lightbulb - which is why he refused to directly answer any questions that morning before the last ten minutes.)

2. You need to pay us $150 to be included in our data base where 85% of jobs are booked through. Otherwise good luck booking jobs.

So before we even get work - they want $235. Last flag folks!! You want me to pay you to represent my child. And you will make money on the commission from my child’s work but you want me to pay to use YOUR database to book auditions - newsflash that’s your job as an agency. You are insane.

Oh and 3 - you need to let them know in 2 days if you are planning to sign with them, because that precious little one of yours they HAD TO HAVE, well they will find another kid who looks just like yours and move on. Dime a dozen!

So here’s the deal - IF you are reputable - get a real office, don’t waste people’s time, and don’t expect money up front. We are NOT signing with this agency. You can claim to be as successful as you want and show me 90 videos with “your talent” and Michelle Obama but there were probably 30 other flags I forgot about that meeting. Do yourself a favor and find a real talent agency and save yourself the time I’ll never get back.

Kids International offers what I describe as more of a family atmosphere to it's members.
