First time at the Log Country Cove, and we loved it! Stayed at Meagan Breann with 2 kids (10 and 8) for 4 days in Nov. Perfect location, right on the water, with 2 decks, a grill, fire pit, steps away from the common area and the small beach. The cabin was smaller, which we anticipated based on the pics, but good for the 4 of us, especially with the 2 outdoor dining areas (on the deck and down by the fire pit). The staff were gracious and accommodating. Love that they had motorized boats and jetskis for rent and free kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards. We boated down the LBJ lake and canoed around in the quiet waters. Lots of wild birds and deer on the property, pecan trees, very beautiful and relaxing. The kids loved the place so much, we just stayed on the property. The gaga ball game was a huge hit. Will definitely have to return in the summer!

First let me say the property itself is great. We loved the location and the grounds, however the cabin left ALOT to be desired. While our family enjoyed the pool and the pool table lots of other things completely missed the mark. The cabin was dirty. A dirty that made me feel they just don't care about little details. Cobwebs in corners, lots of dust (the vent above the stairs looks like it hasn't been cleaned in YEARS as there is dust all over the wall near it and coming out of it), rust around the bottom of the downstairs bathroom, not a single set of blinds worked in the house or was broken, and the hot tub water level was way low. I went to boil pasta to cook for my family and there was only sauce pans, nothing big enough to boil noodles. I went to get ice out of the fridge and when I pulled the ice maker out there is rust all over. Needless to say we didn't use any ice after that. For the price you pay per night I expected ALOT more cleanliness and a bit more luxury. Rustic doesn't need to mean dirty and forgotten about. The linens could also use some updating. On top of that they couldn't quote us a price to heat the pool and instead we were charged after our stay because they charge you for the propane usage. My credit card has been charged but no email or invoice showing proof of the propane usage so the could be just throwing out any number which does seem quite high for 3 days. We will not be staying here again nor recommending to any family or friends.

Many problems. This was our 3rd visit so obviously we had enjoyed it before. We arrived on Christmas Day for a 5 day stay. We had been informed that no one would be in the office that day so no problem. We were unable to start the gas fireplace that day, not much thought of it. The pool was low and dirty, hot tub was almost empty. It was Christmas and family was arriving so we were not overly concerned. The next day the remaining family arrived and we did our family gift exchange and enjoyed each other.
The following morning, I went to the office to let them know of our problems and was met with a very defensive person. I was not at all upset, just wanted to make sure they knew. She seemed angry that I had not told her earlier but we were busy with our family.

Issues were: We had about 20 degree variance in the temperature between upstairs and downstairs and impossible to regulate. The hot tub and pool were not functional. There are 2 jacuzzi bathtubs but neither was operational. The toilet seat was broken. There were nails sticking up on the transition between one bedroom and the bathroom. The carpets were absolutely filthy and gross. There is no hand soap in the house. There was evidence of a previous leak in one bathroom.

Positives:
Space was ample for our family. Kitchen is well equipped and refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, microwave and coffee maker worked. The place was cleaned prior to our arrival.

After informing the the management about the problems, they sent someone that changed out toilet seat and hammered nails in the floor so no one steps on them anymore. Nothing else was resolved or addressed for the remainder of the trip, no one followed up on any other issues. We were told the hot tub would be operational for our last day but it was not. They did issue a small credit, less than 1/2 of 1 day's rate.

The accommodations were disappointing
to say the least. Unfortunately, this will probably be our last family trip to Log Country Cove.

We had the most wonderful vacation at Log Country Cove! We stayed at Manda Shae (the duplex). The cabin was gorgeous and had everything we needed. It was right by an inlet of the lake with big oak trees shading the front. My daughter (4) loved the hammock. The only minor complaint I had was the stove burners were crooked, and 1 didn't work. Also the pans were rather scratched up. But really, there was so much provided for our comfort that that didn't affect how amazing our stay was.
Also, the amenities were so great! I thought we'd have to rent a kayak, but they're right on the beach for you to use at any time of the day. We got to try paddle boarding, too, which was so fun. My daughter loved the water trampoline and mini golf.
We had such a fun, relaxing time that we hope to come back in the spring. It was so affordable for all it is, too! Highly recommend!

The cabins are charming and mostly well-maintained, and the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, our experience took a turn for the worse on the last evening of our stay when the air conditioning unit malfunctioned, rendering the cabin unusable from 7pm to 11pm basically our entire last evening there.

Given the significant portion of our final day impacted by this issue, we were disappointed by the management's lack of willingness to offer adequate compensation. Despite the loss of use for the time during the evening when we really would have used it, we were only offered a $50 credit. While a credit of any kind is appreciated it seems insignificant compared to the loss of use and the more than $600 (including cleaning fee) that we paid for that day in the cabin. We were told by management that the problem with the AC drain line was unforeseeable and that there was nothing they could have done to prevent it. Unfortunately, that is just not true, if AC drain lines are properly maintained, they will not back up and cause water to pour into the main living spaces and a closet full of electrical wiring on the floor. The situation was not only an inconvenience but also dangerous.

While we enjoyed our stay overall, this experience has left a sour taste and has made us hesitant to return or recommend this cabin rental to others.
