First time on an actual sailboat. Sam was an amazing captain! Clear about expectations and answers any questions you may have. Once on the water it was great to just relax and get a unique view of the sights of NYC

I cannot recommend North River Sailing enough! Captain Sam was so kind and attentive. He set us up right at the bow of the boat and it felt like a private charter. We were lucky enough to have gorgeous weather and enough wind to do some serious sailing. It was SO much fun. I already am planning my next day on the water with them. We are from Brooklyn and we felt like we were on vacation. It’s the perfect activity if you’re looking for something new to do or if you’re entertaining people from out of town. The views of the Statue of Liberty and downtown Manhattan were unreal. 10/10 would recommend and deff will be returning.

This was a fantastic experience and you‘ll get a truly unique view of Manhattan. Not least, Sam is a great guy who welcomed us very warmly on his Tantara. Would definitely recommend!

It was wonderful to get out into New York Harbor with Captain Sam! It was awesome to spend the afternoon sailing with the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline (it looks so different, and so beautiful, from the Harbor!) in the background.

Sam’s a great sailor, and he’s got himself a great sailboat. He’s also very good at figuring out what kind of experience his customers want--do they want to sit up front with drinks and enjoy the views and time together, do they want to sail a bit, etc. And he’s skilled, experienced, and flexible enough to meld to what his customers most want.

We had a fantastic time sailing with North River Sailing! The sailboat was spacious and comfortable, and the BYOB policy made it even more enjoyable. Sam, our captain, was very professional, friendly, and ensured our safety throughout the trip. I would highly recommend North River Sailing over any other commercial options out there.

My friends and I had a great time sailing with Sam! It was an exiting and unique thing to do with friends visiting from out of town! Book dinner at Cicconi’s afterwards and you’ll have a perfect evening!

This was the highlight and best thing we did during my trip with friends to NYC! Our captain Sam was very knowledgeable, fun, and very nice. The views from the boat were amazing, and the sail was very comfortable. It was also so relaxing after all the walking we did in the city. I highly recommend doing this, it is such a unique experience! On my next trip to NYC, I will hire North River Sailing again for sure, as I would love for my parents and family to have this experience as well.
