Everyone we dealt with was professional, friendly, and helpful. Although the regular classes are on the weekends, they gladly added a Wednesday - Friday class so that we could complete our training in time for a trip we had planned. Our instructor, Larry, was very patient and very thorough. He gave us constant feedback, continually providing both positive affirmations when we passed a particular skill test, and encouragement and suggestions for improvement when we needed it. We would not only recommend this dive shop to anyone needing to rent or buy equipment, but exceptionally so to anyone looking for training and certification.

Highly recommend! Everyone at SA Scuba Shack was very kind, understanding, and patient. They helped me through finding which certification program was right for me and answered any/all questions I had along the way. Melissa was assigned as my instructor and I was able to be taught one-on-one by her. This, along with Mel's light-hearted attitude, really helped minimize any anxiety I had when I first went underwater. Mel always remained very calm with me, reassured me often, and proceeded through the course requirements in a very efficient, sensible way. I am grateful for my experience at SA Scuba Shack and will definitely come by again for future scuba trainings!

This is one of the best scuba shops I've ever been in my life! The people are so friendly and accommodating. Even before they had coffee and had to open early, they were there with a smile and positive attitude. My husband did his AOW cert there and he only had positive things to say. I can not rave enough about our experience with Scuba Shack!
From the moment I called with questions, to always getting a fast response from the shop, to our phenomenal instructor George… we were confident in our training and had a blast!
Our instructor George sincerely had the perfect balance of sense of humor and seriousness of the tasks at hand. I have no doubt all the instructors are great.

I did this training to support my 16 year old in her passions and can confidently say that I gained excitement about this for myself.

Melissa was such a great instructor, she was patient and gave me the support but also the space to excel. I had wanted to learn to dive for quite some time but was a little nervous once I actually got in the water. Melissa made sure I was confident in my skills before our lessons ended and only two short weeks later I had my first big dive in Puerto Escondido. During this dive I felt confident and was able to enjoy myself because of the support Melissa provided me with during my lessons. I highly recommend SA Scuba Shack if you’re considering learning to scuba dive.

Last weekend went diving to lake Amistad, and SA Scuba Shack was the only store open on July 4th in San-Antonio to rent tanks. High respect!
