You must go to see the Statue of Liberty if you are in New York City. This monument is one of the most famous in the world and it is a symbol of the city.
Having done it twice I personally suggest it.
By taking the boat you can admire the spectacular view of the downtown Manhattan skyline and then you arrive at a small island where the statue is located.

Sehr lange Wartezeiten bevor man aufs Boot gelassen wird. Wir hatten Tickets für 8.30. Security Check begann erst 9.30. 10 Uhr fuhr das Boot los. Darauf muss man doch einstellen. Ansonsten lohnt sich die Fahrt nach Liberty Island auf jeden Fall!

Went with the statue city cruises ferry it was $25 a person and right by the view point. The ferry took us out to liberty island and you could stay out there as long as you want, but need to exit the island in the last 2-3 ferry’s. You can also go to Ellis island but we did not get off the ferry and go ashore because it was chilly and getting late.

Too touristy. You are ushered around on and off the boat like cattle. The Statue of Liberty is beautiful and amazing.

Good 50-min trip with live guide. It gets to a reasonable distance to the Statue of Liberty allowing few minutes for taking pictures. It worth the time taken and the money spent.

A bit crowded on a late fall sunny day, to where it was hard to find seating on the upper deck level. But people shared the seats and spaces with good views with us. Really nice way to see the skyline and Statute of Liberty in a tour that for me was just the right length. We skipped the bus and got a quick cab ride back to our hotel, which made it even better.
