Don’t go here. You will waste money on a scam. If you do please read the contract very carefully. You will see the contract that they ask for full power of attorney (which means they can sign you up for anything and its binding), they also are not required to disclose fees they get directly, and they own your image for publication indefinitely. There ought to be laws against this as they are just trying to take advantage of unsuspecting kids and parents who do not read the fine print. At a minimum, the better business bureau ought to be looking into their predatory practices.

I was sold on these modeling and acting classes that my teenage son was interested in because they said that they help with confidence.
He’s most of the way through classes and has become extremely self-critical and full of anxiety.

They don’t do refunds so I wanted him to at least see it through to the end because I think there is value in that life lesson. When I told them about his anxiety today and asked if he could pass on some of the activities today since he’s not feeling well they told me he can just quit and not come anymore.

SWMT has taught opposite values and lessons from what I would like my son to learn. If you pay them, you got scammed.

Update: I decided to increase my review from 1 star to 3 stars. I appreciate that the director called me and we discussed my concerns with my son present. I thought he did well at the runway graduation. I told him if he decided he doesn’t like modeling he certainly doesn’t have to sign with them, but he wanted to. I went over the contract with him and signed today. I still think SWMT has some room for improvement in training male models, even having a male model come by and share their experience I think would’ve been helpful. Since graduating the SWMT training my son looked up some information on male modeling online and I think gained some confidence.

Looking back, I have developed into a more outgoing and confident person, and have made many new and lasting friendships. I’m so thankful for the opportunities they have provided to me. I was with SWMT for years- I still think about these ladies all the time.

When I was fifteen, I wanted to sign with an agency and wasn’t sure where to start- meeting Angela Black was a wake up call for me that my dreams can be a reality given the correct training and persistence. I fell into hardships with my acting passion, those hardships never go away really. Despite that, I saw that through my time with Angela Black as an agent and working with others (such as training with Casting DIRECTOR Patrick Baca- all thanks to SWMT by the way..) I found a little part of myself again.

I have doubted things in the past, all of those in which I realize was foolish.. this is a tough industry. You won’t make it if you don’t have dedication and perseverance, all of which Angela and the others apart of this place taught me how to do. They saw me in my doubts, they forgave me through hard times, they helped pick me up when I wanted to start again.

I’ll be heading back to Los Angeles in 6 months to continue this passion, it’s been over 10+ years and it still is in my heart. These ladies at this agency help you realize that, especially as time goes on. If you’re concerned whether or not your daughter/son/child should be here, have no more doubt. This is a place where you can succeed.

My student has different needs and I started the training to help her over some rough mental obstacles, they have been wonderful helping her.
